Workshop Goals

This 1 ½ day workshop part of a series of events surrounding the international Mapping Science exhibit, see SciMaps and Atlas of Science. Workshop participants will present their work and discuss challenges and opportunities for rendering science visually, see sample maps by artists at:

We will also be brainstorming of visual languages, metaphors, and means of collaboration to render science and technology visually for a general audience. A particular focus will be the communication of bursts of activity, emerging research areas, evolving scholarly networks, flow patterns, and positive and negative feedback cycles.
